My Story

The truth is, most of this website is dedicated to you. We’ve done our best to identify your challenges and present our solutions.  But this is where I get to indulge, share my story, get personal.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management and Marketing from the University of Cincinnati (Go Bearcats!).  I spent the first 20 years of my career in several IT transformation roles.  But I’ve always loved photography.  In my 20’s I traveled Europe and those are still some of my favorite photos.

‘How did you get started in photography?’  That’s almost always the first question I get asked at a session.  I didn’t get serious about photography until I was into my 40’s.  Karma, kismet, fate, whatever your word of choice…that’s how I changed my thinking from ‘I love photography’ to ‘I have a gift for photography’.  It happened at a craft show in 2013.  I was blown away by one of the booths that had beautiful paintings of the Cincinnati skyline.  After I complimented the artist he said “I can teach you to do that”.  I laughed because I’ve never been able to draw.  “I can’t paint.”  “Those aren’t paintings, those are photographs! I teach classes if you’re interested.”  Hook, line, sinker….I was in!  I studied with him for a year and did my first paid session in 2015.

Some days I wonder where I would be if I had started when I was 20. But most days I’m grateful that I put in 20+ years in Corporate America. It’s made me a better business owner and it gave me the insight to better serve our clients.

I am equal parts logical, analytical business brain and visionary, creative artsy brain. But I am most at peace when I have a camera in my hand.

The studio started out humbly in the basement of our Liberty Township home and is now growing into a unique, all in one, indoor and outdoor studio lot at our 5 acre home in Lebanon, Ohio. As a girl that grew up in the country, if you would have told me even 15 years ago that I’d be living on a 5 acre horse farm, I would have laughed. Nonetheless, here we are and loving it!

My husband Brian and I share that 5 acres with two dogs. Tank is a French Bulldog with a very naughty attitude. Jigs is a Staffordshire Terrior mix and 100 pounds of delicate flower.

I love seeing business owners and entrepreneurs achieve success they never thought possible.  We all rise together.  That’s the story I want to tell.
